Wedding at The Dartmouth Hotel, Golf & Spa | Real Wedding Film

Wedding at The Dartmouth Hotel, Golf & Spa

Cara & Zac

Cara & Zac’s May wedding at The Dartmouth Hotel, Golf & Spa proved that great weddings have nothing to do with the weather.

While the rain stayed around outside for most of the day, inside was a completely different story — full of fun, energy and people simply enjoying every moment.

Everything felt relaxed from the start, and that atmosphere carried right through the day.

There was such a good energy around everyone, from the morning preparations through to the evening celebrations, and it made the whole day an absolute pleasure to capture.

No pressure.

No trying to force the day into something it wasn’t.

Just a couple surrounded by people having a brilliant time together.

About The Dartmouth Hotel, Golf & Spa

The Dartmouth Hotel, Golf & Spa has a really relaxed feel to it as a wedding venue.

Everything is close together, which helps the day flow naturally without people constantly moving from place to place, and even with the weather keeping everyone indoors for much of the day, the atmosphere never dipped for a second.

A big part of that was down to how smoothly the whole day was run. Rhiannon and the team kept everything moving perfectly in the background, allowing Cara & Zac — and all of their guests — to simply enjoy the day without any stress or interruption.

That balance matters more than most people realise. When a venue is organised well and the timeline flows naturally, it changes the entire feel of the wedding — and it always shows in the final film.

Why The Dartmouth Hotel Works So Well

One of the biggest strengths of The Dartmouth Hotel, Golf & Spa is how much variety it gives you throughout the day without ever feeling spread out or complicated.

The different spaces naturally create a good flow, with each part of the day feeling slightly different while still staying connected. That makes a huge difference from a filming point of view, as it keeps the energy of the wedding moving naturally without guests feeling confined to one area all day.

The balcony overlooking the golf course is a real standout feature as well. Even on a grey day, it gives the venue a sense of space and openness — but on a fine evening, it becomes an incredible spot for couple shots and golden hour footage.

The access onto the course itself using the buggies also gives couples something a little different. It opens up the landscape around the venue and creates the opportunity for beautiful cinematic shots, especially later in the day when the light softens.

And from the air, the venue looks fantastic. The surrounding course, rolling landscape and setting around the hotel all come together beautifully for drone footage, particularly in calmer evening light.

A Standout Moment

There were a few moments throughout Cara & Zac’s day that genuinely stayed with us afterwards, but one in particular stood out straight away.

Before the ceremony, Cara had a reveal with her brother — and the second he saw her, the emotion completely took over. Dropping to his knees in tears, it was one of those incredibly raw and genuine reactions that instantly fills the room with emotion.

That feeling carried through the rest of the day as well.

His speech later in the evening was full of heart, and there were so many emotional reactions throughout — especially from Cara’s daughter, who simply couldn’t hold back her emotions hearing the kind words from Zac during the speeches.

Those are the moments that end up defining a wedding film. Not anything staged or planned — just real emotion, real connection and the people who matter most feeling every second of it together.
